Intruder Alarm Installation

EN 50131: Technical Standards for Intruder Alarms
For the purpose of licensing, Intruder Alarm Installation companies must meet the requirements of EN 50131-1 General Requirement and TS 50131-7 Application Guidelines. Between them, these standards define the requirements for the intruder alarm and the documentation and planning of the installation.

SR 40 specifies the operational requirements for Intruder Alarm, Access Control and CCTV Installation companies. It includes the requirements for employee screening, management of records and infrastructure.

Guarding Security Services 

IS 999:2004: Door Supervision and Guarding Security Services
This is the standard required by the PSA for licensing of companies offering static guarding and door supervision services. Companies wishing to enter the business but not yet operating should undergo a Phase 1 assessment READ MORE prior to offering services to the public. Companies which are fully operational must undergo a Phase 2 or full compliance audit.

CCTV

It is not yet a requirement for installers of CCTV equipment to hold a license from the Private Security Authority (PSA). EQA (Ireland) can offer certification in advance of licensing becoming mandatory

Access Control

It is not yet a requirement for installers of Access Control equipment to hold a license from the Private Security Authority (PSA). If and when the PSA announce the requirements for access control equipment licensing, EQA will develop a programme based around these requirements.
