A good management of Health and Safety in the workplace is essential in the present-day business environment. With the growing economy and the stricter requirements from tender applications it is more important to have an accredited certification to Occupational Health and Safety Systems.

All companies have a legal and moral duty to provide a safe working place. Certification to ISO 45001:2018 helps demonstrate this commitment to employees, regulators, insurance companies and other interested parties will ensure your management system complies with the latest internationally recognised standard.

ISO 45001:2018

ISO 45001:2018 was published on 12th March 2018. This new International Standard has replaced OHSAS 18001:2007 as the accredited Occupational Health & Safety Management System Standard. ISO 45001:2018 follows the “Annex SL” format and has the same numbering structure as ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.

The International Accreditation Forum (IAF)  agreed a 3 year migration period after which accredited certification to OHSAS 18001:2007 will no longer be possible. EQA OHSAS 18001:2007 certificates will have an expiry date no later than 12th March 2021 after which time certification to OHSAS 18001:2007 will no longer be possible. The ISO 45001:2018 standard includes all the current requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007 together with some additional requirements.

As the migration deadline has passed all new applicants and existing clients will now be audited to ISO 45001:2018.
